“Benomil” is understood as a systemic fungicidal agent and disinfectant for planting material. With its help, it is possible to cope with a whole range of diseases of cereal plants and sugar beets. The drug has a wide range of fungicidal activity and helps increase yield parameters. In order for the product to have the desired effect, it is important to strictly follow the instructions.
Composition and dosage form
The drug is produced in the form of a wettable powder. The active ingredient is benomyl.1 kilogram of fungicide contains 500 grams of the main ingredient.
Mechanism of action
The principle of action of the fungicide is aimed at inhibiting the cell division of pathogens. The product has protective properties and helps cope with infections. It successfully suppresses the activity of fungal microorganisms.
"Benomyl" is absorbed by the foliage and root system of cultivated plants. After which the active substance is directed towards the apex. In this case, one part of Benomil remains on the surface of the crops, and the second penetrates the plant and is transformed into carbendazim. This substance has pronounced fungicidal characteristics.
When the active component is hydrolyzed, butyl isocyanate gas is produced. It enters the mycelium of pathogens and immediately stops cell respiration. This helps to quickly stop the subsequent development of pathogens. This effect provides an additional fungicidal effect of the drug.
The advantages of the product include the following:
- activity against a wide range of fungal microorganisms;
- systemic therapeutic and preventive properties;
- long protective period - when treating plants with a fungicide, it lasts 1.5-2 weeks, after using the composition for treating seed material, this period reaches 25 days;
- quick effect - it occurs within 2-3 hours after application;
- lack of phytotoxicity if the rules of use are followed;
- low cost per hectare norm - this guarantees the payback of the substance.
Area of use
The product can be used to combat various disorders. These include snow mold, gray rot, and powdery mildew. The composition is also effective against fusarium, oidium, septoria and many other fungal pathologies.
Instructions for use of the Benomyl disinfectant
The dosage and rules for using the substance are given in the table:
cultivated plant | Pathologies | Dosage, kilograms per 1 hectare, kilograms per 1 ton | Features of use | Waiting period (number of treatments) |
Winter wheat | Snow mold, various types of root rot | 0,3-0,6 | Plantings need to be processed during the growing season. For 1 hectare you need to use 300 liters of working solution. | 50 (1)

Spring wheat | Powdery mildew | 0,5-0,6
Winter rye | Snow mold, different types of root rot | 0,3-0,6

To make a working solution, it is recommended to fill the sprayer tank one third with water. With the hydraulic mixer turned on, add the required amount of the drug or pre-prepared stock solution.
To make a stock solution, fill the container a quarter full with water, add the drug and add water. This is done with constant stirring of the composition. After adding the product or mother solution, you need to pour water into the sprayer.
This sequence of actions helps prevent the ingredients of the product from precipitating. The working mixture must be used on the same day. After treating the plantings, the sprayer must be rinsed with water.
Precautionary measures
When using the drug, you must use personal protective equipment. It is recommended to wear gloves and a respirator. The working solution should be prepared in an open area. This cannot be done indoors.
When using a fungicide, it is recommended to avoid contact with skin or eyes. While processing plants, do not eat, drink or smoke. After finishing spraying the crops, wash your face and hands well.
