Characteristics and description of varieties of non-grafting tomatoes

Tomatoes, although they came to us from Central America, have long been a popular vegetable to grow. The complexities of agrotechnical processes do not frighten gardeners, but whenever possible they choose varieties that are easier to care for, including the non-grasping raspberry tomato.

Features of care

Non-budding tomatoes are one of the most convenient varieties to work with. There are more than 10 varieties that have different ripening periods, size and shape of fruits:

  • Unbreakable pink;
  • Unbreakable red;
  • Non-grass pickling;
  • Cherry-shaped;
  • Non-stick canning;
  • Non-grafting plum-shaped;
  • Nepasynkuyuschiysya scarlet and others.

The unifying factor for all varieties is a small height, on average up to 70 centimeters, a strong trunk that does not require tying and the absence or a very small number of stepsons. Typically, the plant needs to be shaped in order to obtain a compact bush with good fruits: the procedure is carried out when the tomato has formed 7–8 true leaves. In this case, excess shoots and leaves are torn off. For novice gardeners, the process of pinching is difficult, since it must be done on time and correctly, otherwise you may be left without a harvest at all. The characteristics of a non-grafting tomato make it much easier to work with plants, giving a significant harvest.

The characteristics of most varieties describe them as small and disease resistant. This means pest control will be kept to a minimum, meaning the gardener can spend more time on other plants.

The rest of the growing aspects are the same as for other types of tomatoes, including:

  • growing seedlings;
  • watering;
  • weeding;
  • loosening (not required if mulch is present);
  • pest protection;
  • fertilizing

growing tomatoes

Tomato varieties for open ground in most parts of our country require planting seedlings, since the growing season, even for early ripening ones, is somewhat longer than the warm season. They can also be grown in greenhouses.

Descriptions of varieties contain ripening times, care requirements, planting frequency and much more. Soil preparation is similar to other varieties; fertilizing is also carried out throughout the entire growing season using complex fertilizers and separately phosphorus-potassium fertilizers. Maximum yield is achieved with high-quality care and sufficient nutrients in the soil.

Varieties for the lazy

Let's look at the most popular non-sucking tomato varieties, suitable for the conditions of the middle zone.

The Nepasynkusya scarlet tomato has flat-rounded fruits with slight ribbing, a characteristic scarlet color and a weight of up to 90 grams. It grows well in the climatic conditions of the Urals, giving a significant harvest. Shows excellent taste when eaten fresh, canned or processed.

Characteristics and description of varieties of non-grafting tomatoes

The canned raspberry tomato has larger fruits weighing up to 100 grams, sweet in taste, and of a regular round shape. The plant is small, resistant to pests, and has early ripening periods.

Tomato Nepasynkuyu pink - the shape of the fruit is classic, round with a slightly elongated tip, the color is pinkish, 5-7 fruits are formed on the cluster, which have a characteristic sweet taste. Used for preparing salads and other dishes.

The pickling tomato is very unpretentious, produces low bushes with tassels of 5–9 fruits. Tomatoes are small in size, cylindrical, dense and smooth. They are excellent for pickling, have good shelf life and transportability.

Tomato Nepasynkusya plum-shaped is an early ripening variety, the fruits ripen at the same time. The plant forms a small bush, literally sprinkled with neat plum-shaped tomatoes weighing up to 100 grams, with dense peel and fleshy pulp. Tasty both fresh and canned.

Tomato Nepasynkuyuschiy red is an early ripening variety, unpretentious, popular in the Urals. The fruits have a flat-round shape, dense pulp and easy joint ripening. Suitable for use in salads and for storing for the winter.

Tomato Nepasynkuyu orange with a spout - refers to varieties intended for open ground, easily tolerates low temperatures and produces a harvest in any summer. It forms a small standard plant, on which bright orange rounded fruits ripen, at the end of which there is a small spout. The variety is loved by summer residents for its sweet taste and high concentration of beta-carotene.

The non-grazing sugar tomato got its name because it has a very sweet taste and juicy pulp. The plant is bushy, up to 90 centimeters high, with beautiful tassels bearing dense, flat-round, red fruits. It is consumed fresh and processed into canned food, pasta and juices.

The Nepasynkusya striped tomato has an original appearance: oval fruits with yellowish stripes on a crimson background. The plant is suitable for both open ground and growing in greenhouses. Among its advantages: early ripeness, uniform ripening of fruits and decorativeness.

The non-grasping cylindrical tomato is a variety of Siberian selection, unpretentious to growing conditions, and produces crops in all weather conditions. The fruits are juicy, dense, weighing about 90 grams, collected in a cluster of 7–9 pieces. The elongated shape and small size allow this variety to be used as a pickling variety, and its sweet taste can be used fresh.

The Nepas 4 tomato was bred for cultivation in the middle zone; it exhibits early ripening, resistance to weather conditions and good yield.

Beautiful heart-shaped tomatoes have a peculiar amber hue, which looks interesting both in pickling and in salads. Because of its beautiful shape, this tomato variety is called the Non-Sonny Orange Heart-shaped.

Tomato Explosion - a large-fruited variety with tomatoes weighing up to 120 grams, red color and round, slightly flattened fruit shape. It is an early ripening plant and can be grown in regions with relatively cold summers, but exhibits better yield in mild climates.

Reviews from gardeners

Svetlana M., Asha: “Gardening is one of my favorite pastimes, however, in our climatic conditions it is difficult to get a large harvest, and there is a little more work with plants. I prefer non-sprouting and early ripening varieties, such as non-sprouting raspberry or plum. They form neat bushes, ripen quickly and allow you to enjoy the results of your own labor even in the summer months. I roll up the plum-shaped one for the winter, and the whole family eats the pink one with pleasure.”

Alexey V., Novoorsk: “Our summers are warm, even hot, but dry and short. Growing crops is sometimes difficult, so before I buy a new variety, I read its description and reviews from gardeners. This helps me understand which seeds are worth buying in the store and which are not. I bought the last curiosity - the non-grazing striped tomato, I really liked the appearance of the tomato, and the description of the variety was good. The yield is sufficient, although I don’t plant much, rather just for fun, but it’s enough for salting.”

Arina D., Cherepanovo: “Our whole family loves tomatoes. In the summer we eat fresh, and in the winter we take out pot-bellied cans of canned food and enjoy using them. To stock up for the winter, you need to grow something in warm weather. I have several varieties of tomatoes, but most of all I like the non-sapling ones - they require less work. Most of all I liked the sugar one, which has a round and very sweet fruit.”
