Description of the Alesi tomato variety and its characteristics

The Alesi tomato is an early ripening variety, characterized by uniform ripening of fruits, large yields, and tomatoes of this variety have excellent taste. What else makes this tomato stand out among others? And how much better is it than other similar early ripening varieties?

Description and characteristics

Alesi f1 was bred by breeders from France. From the moment the first shoots appear until the harvest of Alesi, about 3.5 months pass, which allows us to call this variety early.

Alesi tomato

These tomatoes belong to the first generation hybrids of the indeterminate type. The bushes have medium growth vigor, so they usually reach 1.5-1.6 in height, internodes are less than average. The shoots are quite strong and have medium foliage.The foliage is medium in size, slightly pointed at the ends, typically tomato-like, deep green in color.

You can get two harvests from the bushes per season, most often this happens when growing Alesi in greenhouse conditions (to protect the bushes from possible cold snap). The main features of the variety: uniform ripening of tomatoes and good fruit set at a sufficiently high ambient temperature, so there is a possibility of the formation of new shoots with ovaries after harvesting.

early ripening variety

To obtain large, fleshy fruits weighing up to 250-300 g, the bushes are formed into one stem. And if vegetable growers want to get a larger number of fruits weighing up to 200 g, then this hybrid is formed into several stems. The first fruits formed on the lower clusters are larger in size and weight than those ripening higher up.

Let's start describing the fruits with characteristics. The set inflorescences are simple, usually collected in brushes of 7-8 pieces. Usually the fruits are flat-round in shape with noticeable ribs near the stalk, medium in size, the weight of ripe tomatoes reaches 160-190 g. The color of ripe tomatoes is rich red; there are no spots or inclusions of any other color. The pulp is fleshy and tasty. The cut shows that each fruit has 3-4 chambers with seed material. The skin is dense, but soft and not prone to cracking. The variety's productivity is high - up to 8-9 kg of ripe tomatoes per 1 m2.

Characteristics of transportability: thanks to the fairly thick skin, ripe fruits tolerate transportation well and also have good shelf life.

Pros and cons of the variety

The obvious advantages of the hybrid include:

ripe fruits

  • high productivity;
  • early maturation;
  • the possibility of obtaining two harvests per season;
  • high resistance to major diseases;
  • friendly ripening of the crop.

early maturation

But the variety also has minor disadvantages:

  • the need to tie up shoots;
  • mandatory formation of bushes.

After reading reviews from vegetable growers, it should be noted that the Alesi hybrid is grown in the main territory of our country in greenhouse conditions, but in warm regions it is suitable for cultivation in open ground.
