Features of the variety
Before planting a tree, you should familiarize yourself with some of the characteristics of the variety.
Winter hardiness
The winter hardiness of the trees is good. And if you cover the trunk with snow, the cherry will bloom later, and this will protect the ovaries from repeated frosts.
Pollinators
The best pollinators are Studencheskaya, Griot Rossoshansky, Vladimirskaya. It propagates well by cuttings; in successful years, the rooting percentage reaches 70%.
Ripening period and yield
The tree begins to bear fruit in the fourth year. The berries ripen relatively early - in the second ten days of June.And if the weather was sunny, then the harvest begins in early June. This dessert variety is partially self-fertile. Fully ripe berries look just like their name and are very attractive. Taste with pronounced sweetness, which is diluted by subtle sourness. Cherries of this variety tolerate transportation very well.
This is a great advantage for its sale in the markets. Productivity reaches 35 kg per tree.
Disease resistance
Dessert Morozova cherry is moderately resistant to coccomycosis. Studies were carried out, and in conditions of a strong infectious background, the susceptibility rate was 1-2 points.
Beneficial features
Cherries contain many hematopoietic elements that help with diseases such as anemia:
- cobalt;
- copper;
- iron.
A large amount of pectin helps remove waste and toxins, and the pulp contains bactericidal elements. Cherry fruits improve digestion, strengthen the immune system, and perfectly quench thirst in hot weather.
Growing conditions
After rooting, water the seedling in sufficient quantities during the first year, weed and loosen the soil shallowly. From the second year of life, certain care measures must be observed. Nothing complicated, but thanks to this the tree will actively grow and bear fruit. A good harvest will grow if:
- apply fertilizers;
- loosen the soil;
- pruning branches in a timely manner;
- process and treat trees if necessary.
In the fall, the bark of mature cherry trees is whitewashed to a height of one and a half meters and the beginning of the skeletal branches. For good development of cherries, proper feeding is necessary: nitrogen fertilizers are used in the spring. In summer, they fertilize with infusion of nettle or mullein. They take a bucket of mullein, a kilogram of ash and five buckets of water.
Leave for a week and mix. Water each cherry tree in two buckets during flowering, the beginning of ovaries, after harvesting and in the fall, when the tree is already resting. It is impossible to get a good harvest without proper pruning. In the spring, all dry branches are removed, and then pruned for fruiting.
Features of planting and care
For the Dessertnaya variety, it is advisable to select a site located on the sunny side. There are rules to follow:
- Groundwater is no closer than one and a half meters to the surface of the earth.
- The landing site is protected from drafts and strong winds.
- Neutral soil composition with the inclusion of sandy soil.
Dig a hole 50 cm deep, place the seedling vertically and cover it with a mixture of soil and fertilizer. Immediately water with three buckets of water, after the soil has subsided, make an embankment of sawdust and humus. Proper care of cherries will yield results, and after 4-5 years you can taste the first harvest.
