Advantages and disadvantages of the variety
The advantages of the variety include high yield and tasty fruits.
Gardeners call the most significant drawback the relative resistance to coccomitosis (a common disease of cherry trees caused by the marsupial fungus lat) and moniliosis (a dangerous disease of cherries caused by the marsupial fungus Monilia cinerea).
Rules for planting and care
In order for a cherry tree to grow quickly and bear fruit, it is important to choose a suitable site and correctly determine the time of planting. And it will depend on the region:
- southern - in spring or autumn;
- northern and central - in spring.
The main thing is that the site is sunny, with sandy soil and no groundwater nearby. You should choose it especially carefully, because this fruit tree does not tolerate transplantation well, so plant it for at least 15 years.
Young cherry trees will need special care:
- loosen the soil from time to time;
- remove weeds;
- water;
- trim.
If the tree bears fruit, it should be cared for differently:
- In spring - water generously, spray with honey solution, loosen the soil, trim the roots and mulch the soil around the trunk.
- In summer - water abundantly, apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, collect fruits as they ripen.
- In autumn - apply organic matter and mineral fertilizers, perform pruning.
The Stoykaya cherry variety has found its admirers in various regions of Russia.
