Indications for use of the wax moth waste product and its composition

Wax moth, or moth, is a dangerous pest that spoils beekeeping products. If this insect infests the hives, then cracks in the honeycombs through which honey flows out immediately become noticeable. However, a pest can also be beneficial. The waste products of wax moth larvae are used to treat various diseases, so some beekeepers specifically breed insects to control their population.

What is PZhVM?

Wax moth, or bee moth, is considered a pest that eats bee products and spoils honeycombs. Typically, these insects penetrate into those hives where security is weak, and also like to settle in waste from the apiary or in rooms where beekeepers store collected wax.

The waste products of wax moths are the excrement of insect larvae, which are collected when all the food has been completely digested several times. As a rule, this takes from 5 to 7 months. The resulting product has maximum saturation with enzymes and biologically active substances. The main healing enzyme is cerase, which is characterized by anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.

Some people are wary of treatment with such a folk remedy, but in order to find out all the benefits and harms of PVVM, it is worth understanding their chemical composition and effect on the human body.

Composition of the product

The poop of wax moth larvae has a healing effect due to its unique chemical composition. Moreover, studies have established that there are much more useful enzymes and biological substances in excrement than in the body of the bee moth larvae themselves. The chemical composition of PZHVM has not yet been fully studied, however, in laboratory conditions it was possible to isolate the following components:

  • enzymes, of which the most valuable is cerase;
  • iridoids are secondary metabolites that can remove toxins from the body and lower the level of bad cholesterol in the blood;
  • flavonoids - plant polyphenols that enhance immunity;
  • steroids.
Expert:
The latter are classified as biological substances of animal origin that have a beneficial effect on metabolic processes occurring in the human body.

Methods of application

The method of use of PVVM depends on the indications and purpose of use. If medicinal raw materials are used as prophylaxis, the concentration should be lower than in cases of treatment of diseases.

Prepare the tincture according to the following recipe:

  1. Take 70 grams of waste products of the larvae and fill them with a liter of alcohol. The medicine must be made in a glass container.
  2. Place the container in a dark place and keep for 2 weeks.
  3. Periodically remove the container and lightly shake the contents.
  4. After the specified time, the tincture is filtered and poured into a clean container.

The dosage of a natural medicine depends on the purpose of use and the person’s body weight:

  1. For treatment, take 1 drop of tincture per 1 kg of patient’s body weight and dilute the medicine in water. This volume is divided into 2-3 doses and drunk throughout the day.
  2. If the tincture is used for preventive purposes, then take 1 drop of medicine per 6 kg of weight. Drink this volume in two doses - morning and evening.

For treatment to be successful, you must adhere to the following recommendations:

  1. It is necessary to purchase PZHVM either from trusted manufacturers or from familiar beekeepers. A product purchased on a spontaneous market, at best, will not bring any benefit, and at worst, it will do harm.
  2. The course of treatment should not exceed a month. After this, you need to take a break for 40-50 days, and then repeat the therapy if necessary.
  3. The first dose of the tincture should be taken at half the dosage. If there are no signs of allergy, take the medicine on the second day as indicated in the prescription.
  4. Children under 14 years of age should be given the product only after consulting a doctor and adhering to half the dosage.

Contraindications and harm

Even the most useful product can cause harm to the body if you do not follow the recommendations for use and ignore contraindications. You cannot use wax moth larvae excrement in the following cases:

  • individual intolerance to the product or tendency to allergic reactions;
  • children under 10 years of age;
  • breastfeeding period;
  • bearing a child with complications;
  • tendency to low blood pressure;
  • peptic ulcer in the acute stage.

When taking the tincture, you must remember that it gives an effect only as part of a complex treatment; it will not be possible to recover from serious diseases with the help of PVVM.

Terms and conditions of storage

The shelf life of the prepared medicine is 12 months if the tincture is stored in a dark and cool place.
