Already with the onset of winter, gardeners actively begin to prepare for the spring season, first of all, this concerns the selection and purchase of seeds. The Gina tomato is an achievement of European breeders, which has already conquered gardeners around the world.
Description of the variety
Before purchasing seeds of this nightshade crop, you need to study its description. Despite the fact that Gina was created not so long ago, the tomato has already gained wide popularity.
The bush is classified as determinant (short), its height can reach from 50 to 65 cm, not standard. Three main stems are formed from the root. The plant is medium leafy and does not require tying to trellises or pinching. The first tomato cluster begins to form after the formation of the 8th leaf, the remaining clusters - after 1 - 2 leaves.
Tomatoes of the Gina variety are quite large and early ripening. From the appearance of the first shoots to the harvesting of the first harvest, as a rule, 105–115 days pass.
The root system is quite powerful, which is why the bushes can be grown even on infertile soil. It is important to note that the Gina tomato can be planted in garden beds in open ground, in greenhouses and hotbeds.
Ripe fruits are versatile. They can be consumed either fresh or prepared from them into tomato juices, lecho, pastes or sauces. Due to the fact that the fruits are very large, these tomatoes are not suitable for canning whole.

Features of planting seeds:
- First of all, they need to be disinfected. To do this, the planting material needs to be soaked for an hour in a weak solution of potassium permanganate, and then proceed to sowing.
- The soil must be prepared in advance. To do this, you need to mix peat, soil and sawdust.
- Make furrows in the soil to a depth of 1 - 1.5 cm and plant the seeds, lightly covering them with soil.
- Cover containers with Gina tomato seeds with glass or cling film and place in a warm place (periodically the soil should be allowed to breathe to prevent mold from appearing).
- As soon as sprouts begin to appear, the film or mirror must be removed.
- After the first full-fledged leaves appear, the seedlings can be pinched.
At the end of May or beginning of July, seedlings can be planted in open ground. Before planting, you need to make sure that night frosts have passed.
To grow a rich harvest, you need to prepare the soil in advance. Before planting seedlings, the soil must be dug up and humus, wood ash or manure added. You can add mineral fertilizers, after which you can begin planting seedlings.
The distance between the bushes should be at least 50 cm. At night, it is advisable to cover the seedlings with a warm cloth until the shoots get stronger. Due to the fact that the bushes grow greatly as they grow, they can be tied up so that they do not interfere with each other.
