Features of cultivation and care

The Creme Brulee tomato variety requires the same conditions as all other tomato varieties. The first step in growing a vegetable is sowing. The optimal time for planting is late March-early April. The seeds are placed in prepared grooves, the depth of which is 2–3 cm, and sprinkled with a damp substrate on top. Place the container covered with polyethylene in a warm, bright place and ventilate from time to time. As soon as the sprouts break through to the surface, the cover is gradually removed.

large sizes

In order for the plant to actively develop in the future and produce the largest possible fruits, care should consist of simple manipulations.

  • Watering. Tomatoes like to grow in slightly moist soil. Therefore, you should not allow the soil to become too dry or waterlogged. In dry weather, mid-season bushes are watered once a week in the afternoon. To improve aeration and water permeability, after watering or heavy rain, the soil is carefully loosened.
  • Picking. If the germination rate of the seeds is high and the young plants do not have enough free space, after throwing out 2-3 true leaves, they are planted in separate pots. Seedlings are planted in a permanent location at the age of 50–55 days, after first making sure that there is no risk of return frosts.
  • Garter. Since the description contains information about the high height of the bushes, they must be tied up.As soon as the seedlings take root in a new place, thin wooden pegs or rods are driven in at a distance of 10 cm from the plant, and then the stem is tied to the support with elastic bands.
  • Feeding. During the growing season, fertilizers are applied to the Creme Brulee tomato variety 3 times. As nutrient mixtures, mineral fertilizers are used, which contain less nitrogen than phosphorus and potassium, as well as organic solutions. To improve the effect of root feeding, the procedure is carried out in conjunction with spraying with boric acid (1 g of substance per 1 liter of water).

Reviews

As is known, in practice, plants of this variety may differ slightly from the stated description. Gardeners who have grown the salad variety note the unusual color, rich, moderately sweet tomato taste and high yield. At the same time, vegetable lovers saw shortcomings in the variety: poor disease resistance, as well as uncalibrated fruits. Fruits weighing more than 400 g are formed on the upper clusters, and 150 g on the lower clusters.
