Growing Requirements

The tomato hybrid Sultan F1 is grown only by seedlings. Seeds do not require disinfection before planting in containers, since this procedure is completed before going on sale.

It will not be possible to obtain hybrid seeds on your own plot from planted tomatoes, since the plants will not have varietal characteristics.

When planting seeds, use soil consisting of turf soil and compost. The seeds are placed in grooves 1.5–2 cm deep, sprinkled with soil on top and placed in a warm room. The container with sprouted seeds can be placed in a cooler room with a temperature 2 - 3 degrees lower, but sunlight should be provided. It is necessary that the room is illuminated for 12 to 14 hours. If natural lighting is not enough when growing seedlings, additional lighting is provided using fluorescent lamps.

When the first two true leaves appear on the plants, diving is carried out. Plants are planted in separate pots. You can use peat pots, which are then placed in holes in the garden bed along with the plant. Tomatoes are planted in a greenhouse from mid-May, and in open ground only in June. They practice moderate irrigation and fertilizing of plants with a break of 2 weeks.

Although plants of this variety are resistant to diseases, preventive methods are used in the form of loosening the soil and treating with preparations containing copper. Insecticides or folk remedies are used to control pests.
