Tomato VIP f1 tolerates drought and low temperatures equally well. Thanks to this quality, cultivation is possible without shelter. The variety was added to the state register in two districts of the Russian Federation: East Siberian and Far Eastern as an open ground variety. The fruits are distinguished by high taste and technical characteristics. Refers to early ripening hybrids.
Varietal characteristics
The plants are determinate, the bush grows up to 110 cm (under film in a greenhouse up to 1.5 meters). The density of the foliage is average, the plates are dark green, medium-dissected. The leaf protects the crop well from the sun and precipitation.The inflorescences are simple, forming 5–7 clusters on the bush. One cyst contains 5–6 tomatoes of the same size.
Main characteristics of the fruits of the Important Person variety:
- flat-round in shape, slightly ribbed at the base;
- “sugar” pulp for breaking, medium density;
- in a mature state they are red, not prone to cracks (contain up to 6.5% dry matter);
- the yield is high (up to 26 kg per 1 sq. m under cover).
Important person - universal-purpose tomatoes, well suited for preparations and salads. Tomatoes are suitable for long-distance transportation without compromising their presentation.
The first generation hybrid exhibits resistance to diseases:
- tobacco mosaic virus, root and blossom end rot;
- late blight, alternaria;
- bacterial spot, fusarium.
Time from germination to tomato ripening: 95–100 days.
Preparing healthy tomato seedlings
Seeds are sown in containers at the end of March. The exact landing time depends on the region. The soil for seedlings should contain a large amount of organic matter. The soil is moistened moderately, seeds are laid out on the surface, and a thin layer of earth is sprinkled on top (no more than 1 cm). Do not water, but lightly spray with water from a spray bottle.
Despite the fact that in the description Big Person f1 is a cold-resistant variety, hardening off the seedlings will strengthen this quality. Start with an open window in the early morning or evening hours, leaving the plants for 1-2 hours. In calm weather, containers are taken out onto the balcony.

Caring for early ripening tomatoes
Hybrid Important Person f1 is suitable for growing on drip irrigation. This method will increase the yield of the variety without increasing the daily amount of work. Irrigation is carried out during the day so as not to provoke a rise in humidity levels. Tomatoes are watered by hand strictly at the root, avoiding drops of water getting on the leaves and skin of the fruit.
It is believed that determinate tomato varieties do not require staking, but to support the stems with a bountiful harvest, a trellis or individual support is often required.
Throughout the growing season, tomatoes are fed with complex fertilizers, the soil is loosened and mulched, and weeded.
