Cherry juice is one of the healthiest and most delicious drinks. Since cherries are a seasonal product, you can only enjoy the taste of fresh berries in the summer. For this reason, many housewives stock up on cherry juice for the winter at home. There are many recipes that will help preserve the beneficial substances of cherries and their pleasant rich taste.

Subtleties of cooking

Healthy and tasty preparations for the winter are prepared according to the following recommendations:

  1. Prolonged heat treatment of fruits is excluded; this leads to loss of nutrients. Often 10 minutes of boiling the drink is enough.
  2. You can add other fruits and berries during the juice preparation process. The ingredients are processed in a similar way. Other ingredients will saturate the taste and increase the usefulness of the nectar.
  3. Those who love the spicy taste of juices can use different spices - cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla. This will give the juice an original flavor.
  4. By preparing a concentrated drink from cherries, and then boiling it until thick, you can use it as a dessert.

Cherry picking

To make cherry nectar, take ripe fruits. You can determine the juiciness by lightly pressing them. If the juice squirts out, then the fruit is ready to eat. This requirement is more suitable for dark cherry varieties.

The berry is also chosen to be sweet. There is no need to take small fruits, as they often have less pulp and as a result there will be little juice from them.

Cherries that are selected for nectar are taken whole, without signs of disease or damage. It is forbidden to have seeds in the drink, as they are unsafe for humans.

The nectar contains the following components:

  • 3.5 kg cherries;
  • 250 gr. granulated sugar;

Cooking steps:

  1. The cherries are washed 2 times; the pits do not need to be removed.
  2. The fruits are placed in the upper compartment of the juicer and sprinkled with granulated sugar on top.

  4. After the water boils, place the pan with the fruits and close the lid. It is necessary to reduce the gas if the boiling increases.
  5. Cherries release liquid well. After 20 minutes, you need to drain off the excess nectar, about 250 ml, and pour it in afterwards for absolute sterility.
  6. Cooking time is an hour. After the juicer turns off, you need to wait 30 minutes until the remaining juice drains into the container and cools down.
  7. Distribute the nectar among containers and roll up.
